In May this year, an orchard farmer from Germany successfully introduced our LD-550CJ remote-controlled wireless crawler mower into his 200-acre mixed orchard through customized cooperation, providing an efficient and precise lawn mowing solution to solve the long-standing problems in orchard management.

The orchard of the German customer mainly grows apples and cherries. The row spacing of the trees is approximately 2.5 meters. The terrain of the orchard includes gentle slopes (with a maximum slope of about 35°) and flat areas, and the requirements for lawn mowing height vary significantly in different areas:
Within a 30cm radius of the base of the fruit trees, the grass cutting height should be as low as 20-30mm to prevent weeds from competing for nutrients and to avoid mechanical damage to the tree roots;
In the rows of fruit trees, a grass height of 50-150mm should be maintained. This not only helps to cover the soil and retain moisture, but also reduces soil erosion.
Previously, the traditional tractor-type lawn mowers used by German customers not only had difficulty in precisely adjusting the height, but also had a rigid track design, which was prone to slipping when operating on slopes and required manual driving to follow, resulting in low efficiency and potential safety hazards. "We need a device that can 'understand' the needs of the orchard - adjustable height, flexible operation, and adaptable to complex terrain." In the initial video conference, the German customer clearly stated their core requirements.
Product matching and customization: The "tailor-made" solution for LD-550CJ
After in-depth communication, we recommended the LD-550CJ remote-controlled wireless track lawn mower to the customer, and initiated customized optimization based on its orchard characteristics:
Natural compatibility of core parameters: The height adjustment range of LD-550CJ (20-150mm) perfectly meets customer requirements. The 550mm cutting width matches the 2.5-meter row spacing of fruit trees, and a single operation can cover both sides of a single row of fruit trees. The 45° climbing ability easily handles 35° gentle slopes in the orchard, and the crawler design reduces soil compaction and protects the orchard ecology.
Customized upgrades: According to customers' requirements for "operational convenience", we optimized the chassis adjustment function from "handle / automatic" dual modes to "intelligent preset" mode - through the remote control panel, three sets of commonly used heights (25mm, 80mm, 140mm) can be directly saved, and one-click switching can meet different area operations without repeated adjustments; at the same time, the wireless remote control distance was extended from the standard 50 meters to 80 meters to ensure that customers can monitor the overall operation from the high position in the orchard.
Power compatibility: Considering the strict emission standards of Germany for engines, the customer chose a KOHLER 9HP engine that meets the EU V emission standards, ensuring strong power (without pressure for continuous operation for 8 hours) while meeting local environmental protection regulations.
Field test: From "paper parameters" to "orchard effectiveness"
After the equipment was produced, the customer specially dispatched technicians to our test base for on-site acceptance. In the test area simulating the orchard environment (recreating the slope, row spacing and soil texture of its orchard), the test personnel focused on verifying three core performance aspects:
High adjustment accuracy: Within the 10-level adjustment range from 20mm to 150mm, the actual error is controlled within ±3mm. Especially at the low height mode of 25mm, the lawn mower disc maintains a stable distance from the ground, and there are no "digging into the soil" or "missing cuts" phenomena as seen in traditional equipment.
Remote control and track coordination: During the 35° slope test, the track has strong grip and no slipping or deviation; the response delay of remote operation is less than 0.5 seconds. Even in areas blocked by fruit trees, the signal remains stable, achieving efficient cooperation of "people in the safe zone, machine in the working zone".
Durability and details: The test personnel deliberately operated the equipment in areas with many stones. They found that the chassis protective plate (with a thickness of 8mm) effectively resisted impacts, and the wear-resistant coating of the disc blade showed no obvious damage; the net weight of 130KG design not only ensured the stability of the body but also avoided excessive weight from compacting the soil.
“This is exactly what we need for the ‘orchard manager’.” After the test, the customer's technical staff wrote in the feedback, “Every detail has been taken into account for the actual planting scenario, and the customized highly preset functions have eliminated a lot of repetitive operations.”
Implementation and application: Dual improvement in efficiency and effectiveness
One month after the equipment arrived by sea in Germany and was put into use, the customer sent a detailed usage report and receipt pictures:
Work efficiency: It can complete the lawn mowing operation of 15 acres of orchard in a single day, which is 60% higher than that of traditional equipment; without the need for manual following, one worker can manage 2 pieces of equipment simultaneously, reducing labor costs by 50%.
Ecological adaptation: The crawler-type movement does not cause damage to the root systems of the trees. Different grass-cutting schemes reduce the orchard's weed coverage from 80% to 30%, increase soil moisture content by 12%, and are expected to increase fruit yield by 8%-10%.
